Hindupur, March 9 : Former minister JC Diwakar Reddy on Saturday announced that he would contest the ensuing Lok Sabha elections on TDP’s ticket.
Speaking to media persons here, Diwakar Reddy said that he might contest from any constituency in Anantapur district while his brother JC Prabhakar Reddy would contest from the Assembly. He said he would join the TDP officially in the next week.
Diwakar Reddy said that he took the decision to join the TDP as he felt that only N Chandrababu Naidu was capable of handling the post-bifurcation situation in Andhra Pradesh. He said that the Congress party was dead in Seemandhra region. He also said that all the Congress leaders in Anantapur district initially tried to join the YSRCP only. However, since the YSRCP did not give them assurances on seats, they are exploring other options now. INN
