Hyderabad, March 2 : Former PCC president and MLC D Srinivas on Sunday reminded that TRS President K Chandrasekhar Reddy had promised to merge his party with Congress after Parliament passes the Telangana Bill.
Speaking to media persons here, Srinivas said that the Congress party has fulfilled its promise of granting statehood to Telangana region and it now left to the KCR to honour his promise. However, he said that the issue of TRS party’s merger with the Congress was left to the wisdom of the TRS president.
Srinivas indirectly stated that the very purpose of formation of TRS has been accomplished. “TRS was born to spearhead the movement for the State of Telangana. As the state is now a reality, its duty is over,” said DS.
The former PCC chief also claimed that there were many leaders besides KCR who struggled for the Telangana. He said that only AICC President Sonia Gandhi should be given the credit for turning the Telangana dream into a reality. INN
