Hyderabad, March 2 : The Army authorities have explained the reasons to curb the movements of the civilian traffic on the Army roads, at a meeting held today with RWAs’ representatives and members of the neighboring colonies surrounding AOC Centre in Secunderabad.
There was an overwhelming response and more than 60 RWAs representatives including presidents, secretaries and members have attended the meeting. Army authorities at the outset mentioned that they will fully abide by the orders of honorable High Court of Andhra Pradesh on the subject.
Notwithstanding, they explained their point of view mentioning that these roads are on A1defence lands, maintained and managed purely by Army authority. Senior Army officers said that while they are fully sensitive and accommodative to the concerns of the civil commuters yet explained that a permanent long term solution needs to be provided by the civil administration which includes infrastructural improvement on existing municipal roads connecting these colonies. They said that their Intention is never to cause harassment to the residents, however, the civilians must realise the constraints of the army and co-operate in the matter, they said. INN
