Hyderabad, Feb 17 : Rural Development Minister Dokka Manikyavara Prasad on Monday claimed that Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy was still loyal to the Congress party.
Speaking to media persons here, Dokka said that the Chief Minister’s loyalty towards the Congress High Command could not be questioned although he expressed open dissent over the issue of proposed bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh. He said that the Chief Minister refused to accept the CWC decision on Telangana. However, he said that Kiran Kumar Reddy followed the Congress High Command’s directions in Rajya Sabha elections. He said that the Chief Minister might resign from his post, but will not float a new party.
Dokka also condemned the statements of ministers of TG Venkatesh and Erasu Pratap Reddy who have been floating rumours about Kiran Kumar Reddy’s new party. He said that the Chief Minister was being misled by some leaders. He also said that he was not invited for the meeting held by Kiran Kumar Reddy with Seemandhra legislators on Sunday.
The minister also expressed confidence that the agitation of Seemnadhra people would not go waste. Similarly, he defended the protest done by Seemandhra MPs in Parliament. He said that the MPs were expressed the sentiments of people that they represent in Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha. Stating that the Seemandhra people were dejected on the bifurcation issue, he hoped that the Centre would come out with amicable solution to the problem.
