Hyderabad, Feb 14 : Congress MP V Hanumantha Rao on Friday requested Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar to impose a life ban against Vijayawada MP Lagadapati Rajagopal and other MPs who acted violently in the Lok Sabha.
Speaking to media persons in Assembly premises here, VHR said that actions of Seemandhra MPs, especially Lagadapati, were highly unpardonable. He demanded that stern action like life ban should be imposed on the MPs debarring them from contesting elections in future.
VHR also alleged that Lagadapati and YSRCP chief Jagan Mohan Reddy accumulated wealth through dubious and illegal means and now they were trying to use the same wealth to stop the formation of Telangana. He alleged that Lagadapati was involved in cheating several banks.
The Congress MP also asked as to why Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy did not submit his resignation even after the introduction of Telangana Bill in Lok Sabha. Referring to the previous statements of the Chief Minister, VHR said that Kiran Kumar Reddy issued empty threats to pressurise the Congress High Command. He alleged that Kiran Kumar Reddy was clearing several files by sticking to the post. He demanded an enquiry into the files cleared by the Chief Minister in the recent past including the allotment of assigned lands.
VHR also alleged that the Seemandhra leaders were misleading the people of their region. At one side, they are protesting against the State’s bifurcation while on the other side, they are purchasing huge chunks of land in Seemandhra with a clear mind that Telangana State will be a reality soon. INN
