“Quli: Dilon ka Shahzada” Play by Qadir Ali Baig at MANUU

Hyderabad, Feb 7 : Maulana Azad National Urdu University’s Haroon Khan Sherwani Centre for Deccan Studies is organizing a play titled “Quli: Dilon ka Shahzada” on 13th February at 7 pm at the Open Air Auditorium in MANUU campus.

According to Dr. Salma Ahmed Farooqui, Honorary Director, the play will be performed by renowned theatre personality Mohammad Ali Baig and his theatre group. The play in Urdu is based on the love-legend of the founder of Hyderabad poet prince Mohammad Quli Qutub Shah and his beloved Bhagmati. It showcases the heritage of Hyderabad and its ganga-jamuni tehzeeb. It has live Qawwali on stage. The acclaimed play was invited to several prestigious international festivals like the Footsbarns Festival, Herisson in Europe, the NCPA’s (National Centre for Performing Arts) Theatre Festival in Mumbai, the Nehru Centre Theatre Festival and will be staged at Mumbai’s famous Kala Ghoda Festival.  INN
