Hyderabad, Feb 4 : Former Minister Dr P Shankar Rao on Tuesday supported the candidature of TRS nominee K Kehsav Rao for the Rajya Sabha elections.
Speaking to media persons here, Shankar Rao said that the surplus votes of Congress legislators should be given to Keshav Rao. He said that KK was loyal to both Telangana and Congress party. However, he said it was only for the cause of statehood for Telangana region that Keshav Rao resigned from the ruling party. He appealed to all Congress MLAs to give their surplus votes to Keshav Rao.
Shankar Rao demanded Adala Prahbakar Reddy to withdraw from the contest and said it was immoral to contest as a rebel of the same party which got him elected as a MLA in 2009 elections.
He also demanded the Congress High Command to take stern action against Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy for raising the banner of revolt. He alleged that Kiran Kumar Reddy was behaving like a leader of opposition party. INN
