Hyderabad, Feb 4 : Recognizing the best efforts of APTRANSCO’s performance in increasing the transmission availability, Central Electricity Authority(CEA), Ministry of Power (MoP), New Delhi has conferred the award of “Comprehensive Award -Silver Shield” to APTRANSCO in the category of “Transmission System Availability” for the year 2012-13. CEA, MoP has hailed APTRANSCO which has consistently proved as one of the best power utilities in the Country.
On behalf of APTRANSCO, Pallakonda Ramesh, Joint Managing Director/ APTRANSCO (HRD, IT& Comml) received the award from Jyotiraditya M. Scindia, Union Minister of State for Power (Independent Charge) during the function held at New Delhi on Tuesday. While thanking the Ministry of Power for selecting APTRANSCO for the above award, Sri P. Ramesh opined that increase in Transmission System Availability of APTRANSCO will ease efficient flow of power from generating stations to consumers.
APTRANSCO aims at further reducing transmission losses on par with International standards by adopting latest technology available in the world. Top priority will be given for infrastructure development in power sector, which ultimately benefits the consumers of all categories.
APTRANSCO is planning for construction of 765KV substations and Lines from Wardha (Maharashtra) to Hyderabad via Nizamabad. He also said that by adopting the latest state-of-the-art technology like Multi Circuit Towers, INVAR Conductor, Monopole, Gas Insulated Substations, EHT substation automation, and UG Cables, the transmission utility is able to increase its transmission availability to 99.90% as against 99.89% previous year.
The transmission losses for the year 2012-2013 were 3.97% as against 4.21% in the previous year and 99.90% system availability of APTRANSCO remains the highest in the country with a low power transformer failure rate of 1.08% 2013-14 (upto Jan), which is also lowest in the country.
On this occasion, APTRANSCO CMD Suresh Chandacongratulated the entire employee community of APTRANSCO for achieving this prestigious award and requested them to continue the same efforts in future also. Due to unavoidable circumstances the power utilities have been forced to impose power restrictions because of severe shortage of fuel, he said.
Earlier, APTRANSCO received various awards such as Power Line Experts Choice Award, India Power Award-2008, IEEMA Power Award – 2009, India Power Award-2010, National Vigilance Excellence Award-2011, ICWAI – 2010 National Award, Excellent Public-Service Sector Award-2011 and ENERTIA Award-2011 as Best Performing State Utility in the country in reducing T&D losses, etc. INN
