APNGOs to begin strike from Feb 5 midnight

Hyderabad, Feb 4 : Nearly 4 lakh employees associated with the Andhra Pradesh Non-Gazetted Officers Association will go on an indefinite strike from the midnight of February 5 in protest against the proposed bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh.

Speaking to media persons after serving the strike notice here on Tuesday, APNGOs President P Ashok Babu said that except RTC, all the departments would join the strike. He said that the APNGOs had called off their strike on the intervention of Chief Minster N Kiran Kumar Reddy. However, this time the strike would continue till the Centre withdraws its decision to bifurcate Andhra Pradesh.

Ashok Babu also announced that the Samaikya Parirakshana Vedika of APNGOs would organize “Chalo Delhi” program from February 17 to 19 against the State bifurcation. He said that the Parliament cannot take up the bill when it was rejected by the Chief Minister and both Houses of legislature through a resolution. He also announced that Samaikhyandhra activists would storm the houses of Seemandhra Union ministers in the February second week to mount pressure on the Centre against bifurcation of the State. Other protests including Rail Roko and blocking National Highways would also be organised.  INN
