Hyderabad, Jan 31 : A BJP delegation led by former MLAs Dr K Lakshman and Baddam Bal Reddy met HMR MD Mr.NVS Reddy on Friday and represented that Corridor-I of the Hyderabad Metro Rail project be extended from Miyapur to Patancheru immediately and plans be prepared for it’s further extension upto Sangareddy. They have stated that in view of large scale industrial development and presence of several educational institutions, offices and colonies in BHEL Ramachandrapuram and Patancheru areas, heavy traffic congestion is experienced everyday and people are losing hours of precious time in travelling by road.
The convenors of the delegation K.Satyanarayana, ex-MLA & BJP State Vice President, K.Butchi Reddy and Ch.Narendranath mentioned to the MD that they have covered the entire route from Patancheru via Miyapur on foot with a ‘Padal Yatra’ which started on Thursday and reached Metro Rail Bhavan to give a representation for extension of the Metro Rail corridor.
Interacting with the delegation, NVS Reddy informed them that the Hyderabad Metro project is already the world’s largest Metro Rail project in public private partnership mode and that there are several such demands for extension of Metro Rail corridors in all directions of the city. Appreciating the need for extension of Metro Rail from Miyapur to Patancheru, he has informed them that proposals will be sent to the government with a proper study report. INN
