Hyderabad, Jan 29 : A kindergarten student, R. Yash Raj Kumar, who was missing from his house at Manghalhat from Tuesday evening, was found murdered near Peeran cheruvu at Narsingi on city outskirts on Wednesday morning.
The five-year-old boy was strangulated to death. The killers also tried to set the body ablaze after dousing it in petrol, said Narsingi Inspector N Sanjay Kumar. According to him, the boy came back home from the school on Tuesday and went out to play with his friends but did not return. The child’s father, Anil Kumar, a salesman at a garment store, lodged a complaint at Manghalhat Police Station after failing to trace him.
The partially burnt body was found lying in bushes at Peeran Cheruvu by morning walkers who alerted the police. With the help of the school identity card found on the spot the police identified the child and informed about it to the family who rushed to the spot.
