Hyderabad, Jan 29 : Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy, ministers and legislators from Seemandhra region on Wednesday submitted affidavits to Speaker Nadendla Manohar opposing the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh.
The affidavits were submitted a day before the deadline of January 30 set by President of India Pranab Mukherjee for the State Legislature to discuss and return the State Reorganisation Bill comes to an end. The Seemandhra ministers also requested the Speaker to accept the notice submitted by the Chief Minister under Rule 77. Meanwhile, Minister TG Venkatesh also sought protection for Seemandhra legislators expressing fear from the pro-Telangana activists.
The Seemandhra ministers have also written to the President seeking extension of time by another three weeks to express their views on the Bill. INN
