Hyderabad, Jan 28 : TRS Deputy floor leader T Harish Rao has slammed Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy for delaying a file related to bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh.
Speaking to media persons here on Tuesday, Harish Rao said that the Centre has constituted a committee to workout the distribution of government employees between the two regions after bifurcation. The State Government was asked to nominate two persons as the members of the Central Committee. The Centre had sent the file to Chief Secretary Dr PK Mohanty and the latter has moved the file to the Chief Minister’s Office.
Harish Rao alleged that the Chief Minister has kept the file in pending for over 15 days. He said that the Chief Minister, who speaks a lot about Constitution, should not delay the constitutional processes.
With regard to the State Reorganisation Bill, Harish Rao said that the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly was not empowered to either return the Bill or conduct voting on it. He said except Jammu & Kashmir, no other Assembly in the country enjoys the powers to return a Central Bill. He said that the President of India had sent the Telangana Bill to the Assembly only for its views and therefore, it was not empowered to violate the orders of the President. INN
