Student commits suicide
Hyderabad, Jan 25 : A 17 year-old-student hanged himself at his residence in S P Colony of Shamirpet on Saturday early hours.
According to the Shamirpet police, The boy identified as Kiran Kumar son of Venkatesh an Student resorted to the step due severe stomach pain police suspect.
On Saturday early hours deceased hanged himself with ceiling fan and died on the spot at his house. Shamirpet police registered a case and dead body shifted to Gandhi hospital mortuary for postmortem after autopsy deceased body handed over to his parents.
Financial problem drives private employee to suicide
Hyderabad, Jan 25 : A 28-year old Private Employee committed suicide by hanged herself at her residence on Friday night hours in Chilkalguda Police Limits.
According to police, deceased – Krishna Veni alias Alisna W/o Emmanuel R/o Chindi Basti of Chilkalguda, took this extreme step of suicide due to the financial problems she was facing from last few days. Chilkalguda police said.
Three killed in car-train collision in Chittoor
Hyderabad, Jan 25 : An Unmanned Railway Level Crossing (UMLC) accident occurred in Chittoor District between Kalikiri and Vayalpadu Railway Stations on Pakala-Dharmavaram Section of Guntakal Division of SCR on Saturday.
According to the SCR, the accident involved a car which came on to the railway track at the UMLC No. 109 at KM 166/200 and got hit by Train No. 57475 Tirupati-Guntakal Passenger which was passing through at about 11 45 hrs. As per initial reports, three occupants of the car died in the mishap while seven other persons travelling in the car were injured and admitted to Ruia Hospital, Tirupati.
On receipt of the information, a Medical Relief Van was immediately rushed to the spot from Dharmavaram at 12 20 hrs and Divisional Railway Manager, Guntakal Division, accompanied by senior railway officials left to the spot by a special train, so as to undertake necessary relief measures and monitor the situation. The affected train i.e., Train No. 57475 Tirupati-Guntakal Passenger left the spot at 13 05 hrs after the obstruction was cleared.
This unfortunate incident occurred inspite of regular campaigns being undertaken through various media by SCR to spread awareness amongst the public to adhere to safety precautions while passing through unmanned railway level crossings.
“In the light of the incident, it is once again requested that the Road Vehicle users may follow safety precautions while crossing UMLCs in the interest of public safety. The simple act of stopping short of an UMLC; looking in both the directions to for any approaching train / listen for any whistling sound and crossing the railway track only when there is no train in sight / approaching, will go a long way in ensuring safety at UMLCs,” the SCR said.
Safety Action Plan: To avoid any scope for accidents at UMLCs, Railways have taken a policy decision to eliminate all UMLCs in a phased manner. South Central Railway has already started implementing a Safety Action Plan to eliminate all the UMLCs by FY-2016 through various means such as replacement of UMLCs with Limited Height Subways; suitable road diversions; manning of UMLCs and closure of UMLCs with very limited road traffic etc. During the last three years (FY’s 2010-11, 2011-12, 2012-13), around 400 UMLCs have been eliminated on SCR. During the period from April to December 2013 (in the current FY 2013-14), 54 more UMLCs have been closed down. This process will continue.
Harassment drives women to suicide
Hyderabad, Jan 25 : A 20-year-old house wife committed suicide by hanging at her residence in Parvatapur.
According to Medipally police, the deceased B Someshwari W/o Ramu, committed suicide by hanging on Jan 24.
Someshwari was allegedly being mentally and physically harassed by her husband Ramu on petty issues for last few months, Someshwari married Ramu recently, deceased taking extreme step committed suicide by hanging. Medipally Police has been registered a case under section 304 B, and dead body shifted to Gandhi Hospital mortuary for postmortem, case is under investigation.
Tanishq Jewellery showroom burgled at midnight in Panjagutta
Hyderabad, Jan 25 : Unidentified persons has taken away gold jewellery weighing about Thirty kilos after making a hole on the rear wall of Tanishq jewellery showroom at Punjagutta in Hyderabad on Saturday early hours police commissioner Anurag Sharma said.
The offender reached rear side of the showroom through the adjacent narrow passage after Friday midnight, the Punjagutta police said. He dug a hole enough for a lean person to pass through. “The video footage recorded by secret cameras showed a leanly built person moving inside and collecting gold ornaments,” the investigators said. The value of the jewellery cannot be ascertained immediately as the assessment is still going on.
Senior police officers including Hyderabad police commissioner Mr Anurag Sharma, DCP West Zone Satyanarayana, and others rushed to the spot along with the CLUES team. Sniffer dogs were brought to the showroom for leads about the offender.
Panjagutta police registered a case and are investigating.
