Hyderabad, Jan 24 : Congress MLA K Lakshma Reddy on Friday requested the Seemandhra MLAs to cooperate in unanimously passing the State Reorganisation Bill.
Participating in the debate on Telangana Bill in the State Legislative Assembly, Lakshma Reddy condemned the Seemandhra legislators for trying to stall the formation of Telangana State. He said that the bifurcation of State was inevitable and Seemandhra leaders should ensure the smooth division. He said both the States could progress equally.
Lakshma Reddy also pointed the sacrifices made by the students and youth for the cause of Telangana formation. He said that the Seemandhra leaders should respect the sentiments behind Telangana demand and support it. Referring to the fears being expressed by Seemandhra legislators that their region would face water scarcity, he said those fears amount to confession that water meant for Telangana region is being diverted now.
