Hyderabad, Jan 22 : GHMC Special Commissioner and District Election Officer Navin Mittal has informed all the electors of 15 Assembly Constituencies of Hyderabad district that the Election Commission of India has decided to celebrate 25th January, its Foundation Day, as the National Voters’ Day every year. The Commission’s objective is to increase the enrolment of voters, by using this occasion so as to make universal adult franchise a complete reality and thereby to enhance the quality of India democracy. The day will also be utilized to spread awareness among voters regarding effective participation in the electoral process.
In this connection, it is informed that on the occasion of the 4th National Voters’ Day Celebrations the Booth Level Officers in each polling station area (3091 polling stations in respect of 15 Assembly Constituencies of the district) will felicitate the newly registered voters on 25th January, 2014 from 10.00 AM to 1.00 PM in a brief ceremony / public function to be arranged at each polling station location. As prescribed by the ECI a badge with its logo with the slogan “Proud to be a voter – Ready to vote” will also be handed over by the BLO to the new electors during the felicitation ceremony along with their EPIC.
It is also informed that sufficient quantities of application in Forms 6,7,8 and 8A are being made available at all the (3091) polling station locations of the district on 25.01.2014 for distribution to the public and also collection of forms and photographs, whoever wants to submit application with photographs during the NVD celebrations.
The Booth Level Officers of the concerned polling stations will administer the NVD pledge by the electors attending the NVD ceremony on January 25.
Therefore, all the electors / Public of Hyderabad district have been requested to utilize this opportunity to obtain their EPICs (newly enrolled electors under Special Summary Revision of Electoral Rolls, 2014) and also to submit their claims and objections, if any. INN
