Hyderabad, Jan 21 : GHMC Mayor Mohammed Majid Hussain directed the officials to take the help of local public representatives whenever there is a problem in grounding of various developmental works.
The Mayor, along with Nampally MLA Virasat Rasool Khan, held a review meeting on various developmental works that are being taken up in Nampally Assembly Constituency, in his chambers on Tuesday. He informed the officials concerned that the local public representatives can settle the issue even when there is a problem with traffic police also.
The Mayor has reviewed the 317 works that are taken up with Rs. 2001 lakhs out of which 149 works are completed, 52 works are in progress, 91 works are to be started, 23 works are under tender process and 2 works have been dropped. The meeting has also discussed the works regarding development of roads from Masab Tank to Mallepally, Ayodhya Junction to Bazarghat junction (Red Hills) and Bazar Ghat x roads to Nampally (Gandhi Bhavan) covering a stretch of 4.54 kilometers with a cost of Rs. 16.40 crores approximately.
Majid Hussain directed the officials to take up the trimming works of trees which are covering the light of high mast lights on internal roads. He further directed to half paint the trees with white paint and GHMC logo in order to avoid a religious colour to the trees. He opined that the officials are limiting themselves to issue notices to the non functioning contractors and directed to black list the contractors who are not grounding the works after entering in to the agreement.
