Narayanavanam, (Chittoor dist) Jan 21 : In a scathing attack on the Congress and TDP for degenerating the political system with their misplaced priorities, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has said that the golden era of YSR would be ushered in to create a welfare state and the fight for united state should yield a decisive mandate giving 30 MP seats that would enable the Party to decide the Delhi leadership.
“After YSR, who rolled a golden carpet in terms of welfare of the people, the political system has been rotten badly and is aimed at harassing the adversaries by putting them in jails and playing the divisive cards to gain petty political mileage.
We will rise above the lines of petty politicking and join hands in unison for a united state. The Telugu pride will take on the Delhi arrogance and the end result would be the return of YSR golden era,” he said amidst huge round of applause from the gathering.
Politics of convenience and connivance have come to the fore driving away value system, accountability and credibility but we will bring back value based political system which was shown by YSR. People’s aspirations should take precedence over all other consideration as was shown by YSR unlike the contemporary politicians who put personal gains ahead of everything else.
The degeneration of political values is more visible in the Assembly with TDP leader N Chandrababu Naidu who has been maintaining stoic silence on one hand and has been encouraging his MLAs to speak in tune with their respective regional affiliations. The deed exposes that the Party has no clear policy on the issue and has been willfully playing a double game.
The situation is no different in the Congress camp either.
“The change should stem from you people and we should jointly usher in the golden era of YSR to put the clock of development and value-based politics back to its working precision. We shall fight the united battle and win 30 MP seats and ensure that a person who supports a united state will be the Prime Minister,” he said.
Four years after his death, YSR still lives in the hearts of the people as his welfare schemes have touched all sections of the people. Youth have benefitted the most with the fees reimbursement scheme with a view that at least one member from each family should study professional course.
Being a doctor YSR knew the pulse of the people and had launched the Aarogyasri scheme to provide quality treatment to poor and downtrodden in corporate hospitals.
Such welfare schemes have kept the thought of state division at bay and after his demise, the divisive forces have come to the fore and Congress with the able support of TDP has decided to divide the State in an undemocratic manner without taking the majority view in to consideration.
The assembly was also not taken into confidence and this arrogance is an insult to the Telugu pride and battle should be fought in the true spirit to show the divisive forces their place as majority of the people are not in favour of a separate state, he said. INN
