Hyderabad, Jan 12: In connection with Sankranthi & Milad-Un-Nabi festivals the Hyderabad City Police, organized a Blood Donation Camp on Sunday at CAR Headquarters her in association with Thalassemia Sickle Society, with the assistance of Dr. Pushpa Devi Jain, Director of the Society to help people suffering from Thalassemia.
Thalassemia is a group of inherited blood disorder that affect the body’s ability to produce hemoglobin and red blood cells. This restricts growth of the patient, damages liver, causes heart failure and leads to death. The person suffering from Thalassemia needs regular blood transfusions to keep himself alive.
This is the fourth Blood Donation Camp conducted by Hyderabad City Police for the survival of Thalassemia sufferers. The Blood Donation Camp was presided over by M. Shiva Prasad, Jt. Commissioner of Police, Headquarters, Hyderabad and inaugurated by Hyderabad Police Commissioner Anurag Sharma who addressed the gathering.
Anjani Kumar, Addl. Commissioner of Police, Law & Order, Amit Garg, Addl. Commissioner of Police, Traffic and B. Malla Reddy, Jt. Commissioner of Police, Special Branch Hyderabad contributed to the Blood Donation Camp.
Followed by Blood Donation Camp, the Hyderabad City Police, organized a peace rally on the eve of Sankranti and Milad-Un-Nabi Festivals for promoting harmony among different communities and culture. The main aim of the rally is to bring peace and solidarity among people with a motive to secure the society free from all kinds of complex issues and to give a friendly feeling of oneness in the minds of participants and spectators.
The peace rally was flagged off by the Commissioner at 10:30 AM from CAR Headquarters. Around 2500 Personnel from BSF, RAF, CRPF, APSP, CAR, Civil Police, SAR CPL, SPO & Home Guard Organization together with Mounted Police and Senior Officers of Hyderabad City Police participated in the peace rally.
