Hyderabad, Jan 11 : The opportunities are wide in the field of electronic media and the reporters in this field can excel by improving their professional skills in a systematic way, said K Nageshwar, MLC and CEO of 10 TV.
Nageshwar has participated as Chief Guest in the two-day training classes being organised by Press Academy of Andhra Pradesh in association with Potti Sriramulu Telugu University here on Saturday. He stressed that the electronic media journalists should have professional skills and depth in the subject while presenting news. They should acquire knowledge on how camera captures the event with camera and to present it more palatably.
Nageshwar said that sound and visuals are both important and play key role in presentation of news. Journalist should know how to present news items and non-news items by properly mixiing visuals and sound with appropriate understanding and with creativity. For efficient presentation, one should have professional skills like animation, visualisation, etc., Similarly, the journalists should have knowledge on various subjects to present the new intelligently.
Press Academy chairman T Surender, while presiding the inaugural session, informed the gathering that the Press Academy was conducting these training classes to update the knowledge of the working journalists. He requested the participants at training classes to make use of experts who will share their experiences during the two-day classes.
Sudhir Kumar, Head of Journalist Department of Telugu University, said that there was a boom in broadcast journalism and the journalists in electronic media should avail the opportunities. While conducting interviews with celebrities and other distinguished persons, striking questions should be asked. The journalists in electronic media will come to limelight very early, but if they do not improve their competency, they will fade out early, he said.
Press Academy Secretary SA Hashmi briefed the audience that the Academy was conducting different training classes to journalists since 1996. So far, it has conducted around 142 training classes on journalism and 55 classes for computer training to journalists. He requested the students to avail this opportunity to learn latest techniques in the field through these classes.
