Hyderabad, Jan 7 : Cyberabad Police Commissioner CV Anand on Tuesday said that lack of awareness about traffic rules was one of the major cause of 1.5 lakh deaths per year due to road accidents across the country.
The Commissioner was addressing the participants of drawing and quiz competition held at the Cyberabad Commissionerate as part of National Road Safety week here on Tuesday. Over 1,000 children of 1st to 10th class of 40 schools participate in the competitions.
Anand said that people should be made aware of the traffic rules and regulations. He said mass awareness could reduce the rate of accidents across the country. He praised DCP Traffic Avinash Mohanty for conducting the competition. INN
