Hyderabad, Jan 3 : In consultation with the Chief Justice of the High Court of Andhra Pradesh, Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy on Friday appointed Justice Gopalakrishna Tamada, retired Judge of AP High Court, as the President of the A.P. State Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission on full time basis for a period of five years from the date on which he assumes charge or till he attains the age of 67 years whichever is earlier.
The GO Ms No.1 dated 3-1-2014 is issued in this regard by the Consumer Affairs, Food and Civil Supplies Department.
Justice Gopalakrishna Tamada was born in the year 1949 at Parvathipuram in Vizianagaram district. He had his education in Loyola College, Vijayawada and Andhra University, Visakhapatnam. After obtaining a law degree, he practised for a few years at Parvathipuram and thereafter shifted his practice to the High Court of Andhra Pradesh at Hyderabad. He was the president of the A.P High Court Advocate’s Association for one term. After practicing for 20 years in the High Court of A.P, he was appointed as a Judge and thus served as a Judge for a period of 10 years and is known for fast disposal of cases. INN
