Hyderabad, Dec 15: Rajya Sabha MP V Hanumantha Rao on Sunday condemned the Telugu Desam Party leaders for moving a privilege motion against AICC General Secretary Digvijay Singh.
Speaking to media persons here, Hanumantha Rao alleged that the TDP leader’s decision to move the privilege motion was just over-reaction to some remarks made in a party meeting. He questioned as to why the Seemandhra leaders of TDP remained silent when APNGOs Association president Ashok Babu threatened to take law into his hands on the bifurcation issue. Ashok Babu is a government employee and his statements should have been treated with severity, he said.
VHR said that claimed that it was Dr YS Rajasekhara Reddy, who as an opposition leader, revived the Telangana movement. Further, YSR Congress party president Jagan Mohan Reddy himself said that it was up to the Centre to take a decision on granting statehood to Telangana region. However, Jagan has reversed his stand after the Centre announced its decision.
The Congress MP sought the cooperation of all leaders from Seemandhra region, especially those belonging to Congress party, to cooperate in the formation of Telangana. He said that the Telangana leaders would reciprocate this by helping them in developing their residual State and its new capital.
