Hyderabad, Dec 5 : Nagarkurnool MLA and BJP leader Nagam Janardhan Reddy on Thursday announced that he would approach the Supreme Court against the verdict of Brijesh Kumar Tribunal on Krishna River water distribution.
Speaking to media persons at the State BJP Headquarters here, Nagam alleged that the State Government did not represent the case properly before the Tribunal which consequently caused damage to Telangana region. He said that Mahabubnagar and Nalgonda districts would be the worst hit due to the Tribunal’s verdict. He said proper representation could have ensured supply of water to Mahabubnagar and Nalgonda, which is also hit by flouride.
Stating that he would challenge the Tribunal’s verdict in the Supreme Court, Nagam said that he would also write to leaders of all political parties seeking their support.
Regarding Telangana issue, he said that if the Congress-led UPA Government fails to constitute Telangana State, then the BJP would give statehood to the region by September 17, 2014. INN
