Dowry for sister’s marriage claims brother’s life

Hyderabad, Sept 30 : Borrowing money for sister’s dowry claimed the life of a 20-year-old youth in the LB Nagar police limits.

According to police, the deceased, Nitish Kumar, borrowed nearly Rs 4 lakh about four months back for her sister’s marriage. He had also quit a private job at the time of marriage. However, he failed to arrange money to repay the loans as he could not find another job.

He went under mental stress and depression and therefore, he committed suicide by hanging from a ceiling fan at his residence in SBH Colony of Saroornagar on Sunday night, police said.
