Mahabubnagar, May 30 : Signalling the change of political equations in Mahabubnagar district, senior TDP leader and incharge of Nagarkurnool segment Marri Janardhan Reddy had resigned from the party here on Tuesday.
Marri, who contested and lost by-elections against Nagam Janardhan Reddy as TDP candidate, is most likely to join the Telangana Rashtra Samithi. However, an official announcement in this regard is expected by Thursday evening. He had sent his resignation from the party’s primary membership to TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu on Thursday morning.
According to sources, the TRS is likely to groom Marri against Nagam, who has decided to join the Bharatiya Janata Party.
Marri’s exit from the TDP is all set to change the political scenario in Mahabubnagar district. While Nagarkurnool MP Manda Jagannatham is all set to join the TRS, Nagam is joining the BJP. Now Marri’s exit would minimise the presence of both Congress and TDP in the district while empowering the TRS and BJP. INN
