Hyderabad, May 28 : As many as 54, 146 candidates abstained from the Intermediate Public Advanced Supplementary Examinations held in two sessions across the State on Tuesday.
Of 449,176 candidates first year students in General and 15,188 Vocational categories, as many as 41,769 or 8.99 per cent abstained from the Chemistry Paper-I, Commerce Paper-I, Sociology Paper-I and Fine Arts, Music Paper-I in the morning session. A total of 31 candidates were also booked for malpractice.
Similarly in afternoon session, of 99,179 General and 6,280 Vocational candidates of Inter Second Year, as many 12,377 or 11.74 per cent did not appear for the Chemistry Paper-II, Commerce Paper-II, Sociology Paper-II and Fine Arts, Music Paper-II. As many as 18 candidates were also booked for malpractice.
The Board of Intermediate Education has sent Observers to Anantapur, Nalgonda, Mahabubnagar and Ranga Reddy districts. The examinations were conducted peacefully without any untoward incident, the Board said. INN
