Commission to study reservation for Kapus

Hyderabad, Nov 30 (INN): Andhra Pradesh Government has decided to constitute a Commission to study the demand for reservation for Kapu community.

The decision was taken by the AP Cabinet, which met here on Monday under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu. The Commission will be headed by a retired judge of High Court.

The cabinet also took other major decisions during the three-hour long meeting. They include the constitution of Andhra Pradesh Urban Development Authority and upgrading Visakhapatnam into a Metropolitan Development Authority. The cabinet has also approved setting up of five ports and establishment of Maritime Board on the lines of Gujarat.

The cabinet also discussed the losses due to recent heavy rains and floods in three districts of Andhra Pradesh. Meanwhile, Naidu has informed his cabinet colleagues that he would undertake Jana Chaitanya Yatra from Tuesday onwards. (INN)
