Milad-un-Nabi celebrations begin in Hyderabad

Hyderabad, Dec 23: Several localities of Hyderabad, especially in the Old City, have turned green on the occasion of Milad-un-Nabi, the birthday celebrations of Prophet Hazrath Muhammad Sallalahu-Alaihi-wa-Sallim on Wednesday night.

Green buntings, flags and banners adorn the roads all over in celebration of Milad-un-Nab.

A massive public meeting Jalsa-e-Rahmatulil Aalameen is being held at Darulsalaam, the MIM headquarters, tonight. The meeting will be addressed by eminent scholars including Hazrat Allama Syed Shah Saifuddin Asdaq Chisti from Jharkhand, Shaik Mansoor Bhai, Moualna Syed Masood Hussain Mujtahedi, Moulana Syed Nisar Hussain Hyder Agha, Moulana Ahsan Bin MOhammed Alhamoomi, Moulana Dr. Syed Hameeduddin Sharfi, Moulana Syed Shah Zaheeruddin Ali Sufi Quadri and Moulana Mufti Khaleel Ahmed among others.

Another public meeting will be held at Nizam College Grounds on Thursday by All India Majlis-e-Tameer-e-Millat which will be addressed by Moulana Shaik Khaled-ul-Muaena, former Chief Editor of Arab News, and Jagadish Chander, Retired IAS and Head ETV News. The MIM will organise a Naatiya Mushaira at Darulsalaam on Thursday night.

Similar lectures and religious congregations are being organised across the city. Different organisations have arranged poor feeding and blood donation camps at several places as they see this as the best way to celebrate the Birthday of the Holy Prophet.

The Holy Prophet of Islam, born in 571 AD, is considered by Muslims and non-Muslims alike as the most influential person who ever walked the earth. Muslims consider him the restorer of an uncorrupted original monotheistic faith (Islam) of Adam, Noah, Abraham, Moses, Jesus and other prophets. He was also active as a diplomat, merchant, philosopher, orator, legislator, reformer, military general and an agent of divine action.

For Muslims, he is a model to be emulated. Every speech given by any Islamic scholar exhorts Muslims to follow the Holy Prophet in their daily lives. His life and teaching are relevant to Muslims in their daily-to-day lives, each action, each saying and each habit of his copied faithfully.

Poets author verses praising the Prophet, while Naat Khwan (people who recite poetry in praise of the Holy Prophet) lend their beautiful voices to these Naat.

Milad processions will be held in the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad on Thursday. A Qutba-e-Milaad will be recited at Mecca Masjid on Thursday morning and a grand procession will be taken out from Mecca Masjid to Moghalpura playground.

Relics of Holy Prophet Muhammad will also be at display at Mecca Masjid, Masjid-e-Shattariya, Quadri Chaman, Dargah-e-Yousufain, Siddiq Gulshan and a few other places in the city.

Elaborate arrangements have been made by the Hyderabad City Police to ensure peaceful conduct of the celebrations. (INN)
