AP CS reviews micro irrigation projects

Hyderabad, March 30 (INN): Chief Secretary IYR Krishna Rao has reviewed on A.P. Micro Irrigation Project (APMIP) with the officials of Horticulture Department here on Monday, in his chambers.

The Andhra Pradesh Micro Irrigation has targeted huge potential area of 10.50 lakh Hectares to be covered under Micro Irrigation in all the 13 Districts in the State. APMIP is an ongoing project and so far 5.92 lakh Hectares has been covered under Micro Irrigation in all the 13 Districts benefitting 5.25 lakh farmers, with a financial outlay of Rs. 2775.60 crores.

District-wise potential area available for Micro Irrigation, subsidy pattern from the Government of India for the Project, shortfall in existing subsidy pattern, lateral spacing basis for extension of subsidy and fixation of prices for Micro Irrigation components through competitive bidding, were discussed in the meeting.
