Legislative Council lauds ISRO chief, scientists

Hyderabad, Jan 8 : The Andhra Pradesh Legislative Council unanimously congratulated the Chairman and Scientists of Indian Space Research Organisation for their achievement and looks upon the organisation to take India into the ranks for leading nations of the world in the field of Space Research.

India successfully launched Geosynchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle D5 on Sunday using indigenously developed Cryogenic Upper Stage Fuel Technology. The launch is great boost to the country’s Rocket and Outer Space Technology and its international prestige in the field.

The white Rocket blasted off from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre, Sriharikota at 4.18 PM on January 5 and successfully boosted 1982 kg Communication Satellite GSAT 14 into the Geosynchronous track. The technology enables rockets to place satellites weighing more than 2000 kg in Geosynchronous Orbits in Space, which is known to be available to five countries in the world – United States of America, Russia, Japan, France and China.

The satellite launch is crucial for the launching of manned missions into outer space and other projects, as well as seeking international market share in satellite launches. INN
