Housing Minister assures action against illegal stay of lease holders

Hyderabad, Jan 4 : Housing Minister N Uttam Kumar Reddy on Saturday admitted that some of lease holders of Housing Board were continuing illegally despite the lapse of lease period.

Replying to a question raised by Congress MLA Dr P Shankar Rao during Question Hour in the Legislative Assembly, the minister said that small bits of land in Hyderabad were leased out and most of the leases have taken place between the years 1950 and 1980. The lease amount varies from Rs 1 to Rs 3,149 per annum and these bits have been leased out to educational institutions, temples and also for residential and commercial purposes.
