Assembly adjourned till Monday without T-debate

Hyderabad, Jan 4 : The State Legislative Assembly failed to initiate the discussion on State Reorganisation Bill for the second consecutive day on Saturday and was adjourned till Monday following ruckus created by the Seemandhra legislators.

The YSR Congress Party and TDP legislators from Seemandhra legislators surrounded the podium of Speaker Nadendla Manohar as soon as the Assembly met on Saturday at 9 AM. YS Vijaya Lakshmi of YSRCP and Abdul Ghani of TDP gave notices for adjournment motion seeking a resolution in the House to keep Andhra Pradesh united. The TDP MLAs wore black scarves to express their protest. The Seemandhra legislators shouted slogans in favour of Samaikhyandhra. Meanwhile, a few Congress MLAs and TRS legislators also raised Jai Telangana slogans. Amid furore, the Speaker adjourned the House for one hour.

Similar scenes continued after the House re-assembled at about 10.36 AM. The YSRCP, TDP, TRS and BJP members shouting slogans, both in favour and against Telangana formation. Surprisingly, the new Legislative Affairs Minister S Sailajanath was also seen holding a placard in favour of Samaikhyandhra. Meanwhile, the Speaker announced that all the Questions listed for Question Hour were deemed to be answered and adjourned the House again for one hour at about 10.39 AM.

Deputy Speaker Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka was on the chair when the House re-assembled at about 12.42 AM. Despite several requests from the Chair for restoration of normalcy, the legislators continued ruckus leading the Deputy Speaker to adjourn the House till Monday. INN
