“Heavy to very heavy rain at a few places with extremely heavy rain at isolated places would occur in all the districts of Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Telangana during next 48 hrs. Heavy to very heavy rain would occur at isolated places over Rayalaseema during the same period,” the Met Department said.

It said that the North-East monsoon has been vigorous over South-Coastal Andhra Pradesh and active over Rayalaseema. The well-marked low pressure area over South-Coastal Andhra Pradesh adjoining West-Central Bay of Bengal and neighbourhood now lies over coastal AP and adjoining areas of Telangana and Rayalaseema. The Met Department also said that the heavy rain would occur at isolated places in Mahabubnagar, Ranga Reddy, Hyderabad, Nalgonda, Khammam and Medak Districts during the same period.

In view of the warning, the District Collectors have been directed to consider evacuation of people, if felt necessary, from the low lying areas where houses are likely to be submerged or inundated. They have been asked to accommodate the people in Relief camps/Shelters and provide food, drinking water etc., as per norms and also to draw funds under TR-27 for the same duly sending accounts to Govt., Revenue (DM) Dept., and Accountant General.
