Addressing a press conference at Bapatla here, Panabaka said that although she was personally in favour of united Andhra Pradesh, she would abide by the decision of the Congress High Command on the bifurcation issue. She indicated that the Telangana Bill would be introduced and passed in the forthcoming winter session of the Parliament.

Panabaka said that the Seemandhra region could be developed like Singapore after bifurcation with the huge financial support from the Centre. She also promised to transform Bapatla, the constituency that she represents in the Lok Sabha, into “Bhagyanagaram” in terms of development. INN

According to the ACB Officials, on Sept 10 at about 2:30 PM, ACB officials caught red handedly R Sambashiva Rao, LLB Seat Clerk, PG-II Section, O/o Controller of Examinations, Acharya Nagarjuna University, Guntur when he demanded and accepted the bribe amount of Rs 1,000 in the O/o Controller of Examinations, Guntur from the complainant B Shyam Kumar, LLB Graduate, Acharya Nagarjuna University, for doing an official favour of processing the application of the complainant and for handing over the LLB Provisional Pass Certificate to the complainant.

Both the hands fingers of the AO. yielded positive result in chemical test. The bribe amount of Rs 1,000 was recovered from the right side upper table drawer of the AO, which also yielded positive result in the chemical test. The relevant documents were seized.

The Accused Officer is being arrested and produced before the ACB Court, Vijayawada. Case is under investigation. INN

Vijayamma was forced to shift the venue from Vijayawada to Guntur following enforcement of election code of conduct in Krishna district in view of Assembly by-polls. It was for the same reason that the police did not permit TDP leader Devineni Umamaheshwsara Rao to undertake fast in Vijayawada. Following denial of permission by the police, the YSRCP leaders shifted the venue to Guntur.

Vijayamma will undertake the indefinite fast demanding that the Centre should at least maintain the status quo if it could not do justice to all regions. INN

Pinneli said that he was resigning from his posts to respect the sentiments of people in Seemandhra regions who are against the division of the State. He said that the Centre should not reject the demand for formation of Telangana and keep the State united.

It may be mentioned that that so far 20 MLAs, including Pinneli, have resigned from their posts in favor of united Andhra Pradesh. INN

Talking to reporters here, Rayapati said that he was totally opposed to the division of the State and would vote against Telangana if referendum was sought. He said that he would take up the matter with the Congress High Command.

After Rajagopal’s announcement, several leaders from Andhra and Rayalaseema regions have warned the Congress High Command against taking a decision in favour of Telangana formation. INN

Talking to reporters after inaugurating the Palnadu Revenue Complex here, Revenue Minister Dr N Raghuveera Reddy said that a new policy was being drafted which would bring accountability on both the government and private parties on the lands being allocated to the latter. Stating that the allotment was land to private companies was erroneous, he said that the government would soon issue notices to the erring private parties. He said that the government might take back land from the companies if they fail to respond satisfactorily.

Raghuveera also informed that the Guntur District Collector has been asked to serve notices to five cement companies, who were allotted nearly 10,000 acres of land in Palnadu area, for their failure to start the project and provide employment.

The minister further informed 7,000 posts ranging from Village Assistants to Deputy Collectors in the Revenue Department would be filled soon. He said that of 18 new revenue divisions that the government has decided to create, 10 would be created in the first phase. INN

Talking to reporters in Tirumala, Rayapati said that the action against three ministers named in the issue of 26 controversial GOs was certain. However, he did not elaborate on when the action might be taken. It may be mentioned that three ministers – Dr J Geetha Reddy, Ponnala Lakshmaiah and Kanna Laxminarayana have been served notices by the Supreme Court in connection with Disproportionate Assets case of Jagan Mohan Reddy.

Rayapati said that the results of Karnataka election had their repercussions in the State as well as the Centre. That was the reason why two ministers – Dharmana Prasada Rao and Sabitha Indira Reddy were asked to resign after they were named as accused in the CBI chargesheet, he said. INN

Talking to reporters here, Rayapati said that the Congress High Command had asked the ministes Dharmana Prasada Rao and P Sabitha Indira Reddy to step down. He said the party High Command might soon take a decision on other ministers too.

So far three ministers – Mopidevi Venkata Ramana, Dharmana Prasada Rao and Sabitha Indira Reddy – were forced to resigned after they were named as accused in the Disproportionate Assets case of YS Jaganmohan Reddy. Three others ministers are facing similar charges although the CBI did not named them in the chargesheets. INN
