Talking to reporters in Tirumala, Rayapati said that the action against three ministers named in the issue of 26 controversial GOs was certain. However, he did not elaborate on when the action might be taken. It may be mentioned that three ministers – Dr J Geetha Reddy, Ponnala Lakshmaiah and Kanna Laxminarayana have been served notices by the Supreme Court in connection with Disproportionate Assets case of Jagan Mohan Reddy.

Rayapati said that the results of Karnataka election had their repercussions in the State as well as the Centre. That was the reason why two ministers – Dharmana Prasada Rao and Sabitha Indira Reddy were asked to resign after they were named as accused in the CBI chargesheet, he said. INN

Talking to reporters at R&B Guest House here, Kotla said that the people of Karnataka have voted for a positive change in the State and they were fed up with the “misrule” of Bharatiya Janata Party. He hoped that the Congress party would win more than 120 seats to form the government.

Kotla also expressed confidence that water would be brought from Tungabhadra to the State by laying a direct pipe line for the purpose of drinking. INN

Deputy Chief Minister Damodar Rajanarasimha and PCC President Botsa Satyanarayana also reached Delhi on Friday. Meanwhile, intense lobbying has been going on in New Delhi for the 10 MLC seats that are going for polls.

Going by the strength in the Legislative Assembly, the Congress is all set to win five seats while TDP will bag three with one seat. The YSR Congress party will win one seat while the TRS is lobbying hard to win one seat.

According to sources, there are almost 200 aspirants for the nine seats including four seats to be nominated by the governor. The elections, if necessary, will be held on March 21 while the governor’s nominations may happen by the end of the month.

The list of aspirants include former ministers, former MLAs, former MLCs, former mayors, APCC office-bearers, former PCC presidents and retired IAS officers. The Congress High Command is most likely to finalise the candidates by today evening or latest by tomorrow.

According to sources, the nomination of former minister Mohammad Ali Shabbir is almost certain. The other contenders include former speaker Agarala Eswar Reddy, state biodiversity board chairman R Hampaiah, former ministes Kotagiri Vidyadhar Rao and K Pushpaleela, former MLAs Mallu Ravi, D Venkateswarlu, Ghanta Murali Krishna, Chadalawada Jairam Babu, Buragadda Vedavyas, R Gopinath, Bijjam Parthasarathi Reddy,V Sivaram Krishna Rao, M Kamalamma, former MP P V Rajeswara Rao, former MLCs Reddigari Venkatrama Reddy and Boodati Radha Krishan, former mayor Banda Karthika Reddy and former IAS officer C Umamalleswara Rao.

In an apparent move to ridicule the credit being taken by Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy and PCC President Botsa Satyanarayana for a better performance in the cooperative elections, he expressed concern over the politicisation of cooperative system in the State. He said that the total involvement of political parties in the cooperative elections was against its spirit.

However, Ravindra Reddy refused to make a direct comment on the claims being made by the Chief Minister and PCC chief about Congress winning the cooperative elections. He said that the entire cooperative system should be left to the farmers. INN

The cooperative elections is an indicator of the things to come, he said adding that farmers are with the party. The same results will continue in 2014 as well, he said.

Talking to reporters here, MLC MS Prabhakar, Deputy Mayor D Rajkumar and floor leader D Rambabu thanked the Mayor for passing the condolence motion. They said that it was an established Parliamentary procedure to adjourn the session after passing a condolence motion although the Mayor has discretionary powers to continue the session.

Denying the allegations of match fixing between Congress and MIM over convening the GHMC meeting, they said that as discussed, the GHMC’s special meeting will be held on February 18 to pass the budget. They said that there were no obstacles in passing the GHMC’s budget and it would be sent to the government before its deadline of February 21. INN

Talking to reporters here, Darsi MLA Sivaprasada Reddy said that his suspension was ridiculous as he has already resigned from the party long ago to join the YSR Congress party. He said many more MLAs from the Congress party would soon join the YSRCP. Kakinada MLA D Chandrashekhar Reddy too said that since he has already resigned, his expulsion was meaningless.

Meanwhile, Machilipatnam MLA Perni Nani welcomed his explusion from the Congress party.INN
