Addressing a press conference here, BJP national spokesperson Prakash Javedkar said that the tabling of Telangana Bill in the ongoing session of Parliament was unlikely. He said that the Bill might be delayed till February next when a short session of the Parliament would be convened to pass the Vote-on-Account.

Javedkar accused the Congress of resorting to vote bank politics on the Telangana issue. While the Congress wants to gain sympathy in Telangana region by announcing Telangana, it is making efforts to make electoral gains in Seemandhra region. He said that the ruling party was dividing the people instead of bifurcating the State. Accusing the Congress party of mishandling the bifurcation issue, he said that Atal Bihari Vajpayee Government created three smaller States and there were no hard feelings among the people who were divided. He described the process adopted by the UPA-II for Telangana formation as erroneous.

The BJP leader reiterated that his party was in favour of Telangana State and it would continue to support it.

Javedkar did not rule out BJP having an alliance with the Telugu Desam Party. He said that a decision in this regard would be taken after the announcement of elections.

Earlier, he participated in a program organized for “Run for Unity and Run for India” at People’s Plaza. BJP State president G Kishan Reddy, national vice-president Bandaru Dattatreya, cricketer VVS Laxman, actor Rajasekhar and his actress wife Jeevita also participated in the programme.

Dattatreyya also demanded immediate payment of ex-gratia of Rs 10 Lakhs to the next of the kin of the deceased and Rs 1 Lakh to the injured. Further, he said that one member from the family of the deceased should be provided with employment.

“It is quite painful and shocking that the passengers of the Bokaro Express met with a ghastly accident that took place on the eve of Diwali festival.  The festival of lights has turned out to be a dark and gloomy day for the families of the deceased and injured in the accident.  I express my heartfelt condolences to the family members of the deceased and the injured,”  Dattatreyya said.

Modi will arrive in a special flight at Begumpet Airport at about 10 AM. He will hold a meeting with the senior leaders of the party from 11 AM to 1 PM at Park Hyatt Hotel. All heavy vehicles like DCMs/Lorries and Buses coming from Mahabubnagar and Nalgonda should alight at Nampally, A.R Petrol Pump and directed them to park at Exhibition Grounds.

All heavy vehicles like DCMs/Lorries and Buses coming from RR Dist and Hyderabad surrounding areas should alight at PCR and have been directed them to park at Public Gardens. Similarly, all two wheelers and 4-wheelers directed to park their vehicles at Nizam College grounds, Stanley Engineering College, Aliya College and Mahabubia College.

Senior leaders including M Venkaiah Naidu, Bandaru Dattatreyya and State BJP President G Kishan Reddy visited the stadium to review the preparations. They also interacted with the senior police officials on the security arrangements for the meeting.

Meanwhile, the BJP leaders have decorated the city BJP and saffron flags. Huge hoardings welcoming Modi to the city have also been installed at different locations in the city.

Talking to reporters at the Assembly media point, Kishan Reddy said that the entire country was badly hit due to the large scale corruption and misrule of Congress party. Therefore, by appointing Modi as the head of election campaign committee, the BJP is trying to give a suitable alternate.

Stating that Modi’s appointment was being welcomed across the country, Kishan Reddy hoped that people in Andhra Pradesh too would vote for BJP during next elections. INN

Addressing a press conference here, BJP leader Ravi Shankar Prasad said that Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy alone could not be blamed for the power crisis. He said it was the responsibility of the Centre to provide adequate gas and coal for power generation. However, he alleged that the Centre was encouraging the State to buy power from other States at higher rates.

Ravi Shankar Prasad claimed that there was no power crisis in the BJP-ruled States due to effective administration.

The BJP leader also alleged that Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh was incapable of taking decisions on his own. He was Congress President Sonia Gandhi was taking decisions on his behalf and the Prime Minister was being remote controlled by her.

Ravi Shankar Prasad said that people were waiting for 2014 elections to bring back the BJP-led NDA to power. He said that Gujarat model would be adopted for the overall development of the country.
