All shops, business establishments and educational institutions remained closed while the public transportation too was badly affected across the district. Protests, dharnas and “rasta roko” agitations were held at many places opposing the proposal. The Khammam Joint Action Committee demanded that there should not be any change in the status of Bhadrachalam after the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh and it should remain an integral part of Telangana.

It may be mentioned that a 72-hour shut down was observed in Bhadrachalam division till Monday midnight and then it was followed by Khamma district bandh. INN

While the pro-Telangana activists staged rasta-roko and dharnas at several places, the public transport was badly hit with activists not allowing the RTC to ply 118 buses from the depot. Bhadrachalam, Nov 16 : Normal life remained paralysed for the second consecutive day on Saturday following the 72-hour bandh call given by the pro-Telangana groups opposing the proposal to merge Bhadrachalam division with Seemandhra region after the
