Hyderabad, May 12 (INN): The Telangana Government on Thursday issued orders enhancing the allocations for Constituency Development Programme from Rs. 1.50 Crore to Rs. 3 Crore per annum for each MLA/MLC Constituency from the year 2016-17.
In GO MS. No. 19, issued by the Planning Department today, Principal Secretary B.P. Acharya said that several MLAs and MLCs have represented to Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao to enhance the annual allocation under ‘Constituency Development Programme’ to Rs. 3 Crore per MLA/MLC Constituency, in order to take up various developmental works in their respective Constituencies, to address the felt needs of the people. They have also requested to permit utilization of entire allocation under the ‘Constituency Development Programme (CDP)’ scheme, based on the proposals of MLAs/MLCs only.
Accordingly, the State Government has enhanced the allocation to Rs. 3 crore per annum for each MLA/MLC Constituency, with effect from the year 2016-17, to take up various developmental works in their respective Constituencies, as per the existing guidelines. (INN)
