One killed, three hurt as lorry hits auto

Hyderabad, Jan 30 (INN): One person was killed and three others were injured when the passenger auto-rickshaw they were travelling in was hit by a tipper lorry.

The accident occurred on Darga Road between Mehdipatnam and Langar Houz in the early hours of Friday. Three passengers and the auto-driver were severely injured in the accident. They were immediately were immediately rushed to the Osmania General Hospital where one of them, B Satyanarayana, 42, of Viqarabad, was declared brought dead, according to Langar Houz Inspector Md Javeed.

4-yr-old boy crushed to death by RTC bus

In a gruesome accident, a four-year-old boy was crushed to death by an RTC bus near Chintapalli Bus Stop on Friday.

According to Ibrahimpatnam police, the boy, Gurram Sai Sarath, was crushed under the front tyre of the bus. When the victim was alighting at the bus stop along with his mother, the bus took off and he slipped down under the tyre. He died on the spot. He was a resident of Bheem Nagar near Ramdaspally of Ibrahimpatnam.

Daughter’s ill-health drives man to suicide

The inability to buy medicines for an ailing daughter drove a 25-year-old man to suicide.

The incident happened in Mohabbat Nagar in Maheshwaram police limits on Thursday night. The deceased, G Kumar, took the extreme step by setting himself ablaze at his residence and died at the Osmania General Hospital on Friday morning. According to police, Kumar was married to one Laxmi about four years ago and the couple had one daughter.

On Thursday evening, Kumar’s daughter fell sick and he took her to a local doctor. However, due to financial problems he could not purchase the prescribed medicines. The feeling of helplessness consequently drove Kumar to suicide.

In another case, Md Shaik, 45, of Addagutta, who had consumed poison on January 27, died at the Gandhi Hospital on Friday. He was a vegetable vendor and was suffering from financial problems for the past few months and the same are suspected to have driven him to suicide.

Ill-health drives three persons to suicide

Three persons, including two women, committed suicide allegedly due to ill-health.

In Miyapur police limits, an 18-year-old girl, Sana Afreen, committed suicide by hanging to the ceiling at her residence in Aditya Nagar on Thursday night. In another case, B Saritha, 26, succumbed to burn injuries which she sustained on January 28 after setting herself ablaze at her residence in Medipally. She was admitted to the Gandi Hospital where she died last night.

In a separate case, 35-year-old Shivanand, who had consumed some unknown poison at his residence in Ellamma Banda on January 21, died at the Gandhi Hospital on Thursday night, according to KPHB Police.

Three killed in train accidents

In separate cases, three unidentified persons were killed in train accident at different places in the city.

While a woman, aged about 60 years, was killed between Borabanda – Bharat Nagar, another unidentified man of about 25 years got killed near Hafizpet Railway Stations on Thursday night, according to Nampally Railway Police.

In another case, an unidentified man of about 60 years died on the spot after he was hit by a train between Falaknuma and Shivarampally stations on Friday morning, according to Kachiguda Railway Police.

Bodies of all three victims have been preserved at the Osmania General Hospital mortuary for post-mortem and identification.
