GHMC to clean nalas on 760 KM stretch

Hyderabad, Jan 27 (INN): GHMC Commissioner and Special Officer Somesh Kumar has directed the Engineering officials to submit the proposals with regard to desilting of nalas by 30th January.

The Special Officer, along with Special Commissioner Navin Mittal and Engineer-in-Chief R Dhan Singh held a review meeting with all the Engineering senior officials with regard to various engineering works. He said that 760 kilometers of nalas and drains would be desilted and therefore, the Engineering officials have been asked to submit the proposals by 30th January.

Somesh Kumar informed that a review meeting would be conducted again on 31st January and necessary approvals would be given to go for short tenders.

The GHMC is also planning to go for 100 kilometers white topping of roads out of which two-and-a-half kilometers is being taken up at Road No.10 and it has also been decided that 10 kilometers of road white topping in every zone. Some of the roads have already been identified for white topping.

The Special Officer also directed the officials to identify the water stagnation points and to submit the details of the water stagnation points so that works can be taken up on priority. He also directed the officials to identify the man holes without covers and also see that action be taken on priority.
