Haj Camp 2014 concludes as last batch of pilgrims return home

Hyderabad, Nov 6 (INN): With the arrival of last batch of 26 pilgrims at the Haj House at Nampally from Mumbai through Special RTC bus, the Haj Camp 2014 concluded on Thursday.

Telangana State Haj Committee Special Officer Prof. S. A. Shukoor while announcing conclusion of the Haj Camp thanked all the Departments, Organisations and individuals who extended warm cooperation, in a spirit of service to the pilgrims, for successful and smooth conduct of the Haj Camp and expressed the hope that their cooperation to the State Haj Committee will continue in the same spirit in the years to come. He said that due to this invaluable cooperation the Haj Camp of Hyderabad has got a pride of place throughout the country and it is regarded as teh Best Camp in India.

Prof Shukoor said that this year the State Haj Committee had received a total of 18083 Applications out of which 5379 were declared elected through Qurrah. A total number of 6043 pilgrims left from Hyderabad Embarkation Point which includes 3928 from Telangana, 1376 from Andhra Pradesh and 739 from Karnataka while 413 pilgrims left from Bengaluru embarkation Point. He further said that this year only three death cases were recorded, two from Hyderabad and one from Anantapur, 27 pilgrims returned early due to medical or personal grounds. With the arrival of today’s batch all the pilgrims have returned back home he added.

The Special Officer expressed gratitude to the Police, Customs, Immigration, Saudi Airlines, Princess Esra Hospital, RTC, GMR, CISF, Menzis Ground Handling, Media and other organisations and individuals for their active cooperation in the Haj Operations.
