CM exhorted Officials to work hard

Hyderabad, Sept 3 : The Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy today exhorted the Bureaucracy to have clarity of thought and consistency of thought. He told them that they should understand the problems of people and solve them. Though the political leaders form policies and programmes, it is for the officials to implement them though a better delivery mechanism so that the benefits of the programmes reach the people.

The Chief Minister was speaking as the Chief Guest at the 88th Foundation course for IFS and Central Civil Service officers at MCR HRD Institute. He opined that there should be complete sychronisation of political leaders and officials for the good of the people.

The Chief Minister said the officials have a long service before them. He exhorted them to work hard. They have the opportunity to serve for the next 30 or 35 years. However the politician has only 5 years and he has to go back to the people and get elected to serve them again. The officials have a big challenge before them. He said we have to learn from our mistakes and try to correct. “No one is perfect. We commit mistakes. We have to learn from our mistakes. We should learn from our failures. Perfection comes through experience. Don’t say I am better than others. You have to learn to respect each other”.

The Chief Minister said India and China have the advantage of a huge human resource potential. We have to make use of this human potential to our advantage. He quoted US President as telling the Americans that they have to work hard or else the Indians and Chinese youth will overtake them.

The Chief Minister called upon the officials to think positively. He said we have to concentrate on education and health. He also agreed that doctors, para medical staff and others do not prefer to work in rural areas. The State Government made it now mandatory for the doctors to work in rural areas.

The Chief Minister then spoke about the Mee Seva programme and said it became a big success. It was started in 2011 and today nearly two crores transactions are already completed. He said 150 most essential services are now done on lone though Mee Seva centres. Each transaction saves the people of bribes.

The Chief Minister also spoke about development and welfare, He said that rich has to be taxed to help the poor. He said the food security bill recently enacted was the need of the hour and said sufficient food is the basic necessity of the people. He said in A.P. Re.1-a-kg rice is being supplied to 7.5 crs people out of 8.5 crs population at 4 kg per person a month. He said under the Amma Hastham scheme, 9 essential commodities are being supplied at Rs.185/-. He said scholarships and fee reimbursements are being provided to 27 lakh students at Rs.4,000 crs per year. INN
