Hyderabad, Nov 8 : State BJP President G Kishan Reddy on Thursday announced the party would contest the next assembly elections in the State on its own.
Talking to reporters at the State BJP Headquarters at Nampally, Kishan Reddy said that the party would not have any tie-ups with other parties for the assembly elections and would contest alone. He said that the party has already identified the seats where it would lay maximum focus. The BJP has already begun strengthening the cadre in those constituencies at the grass root levels, he said.
Kishan Reddy said that the party was in favour of Telangana from the beginning itself and the state would have been formed about 10 years ago if instead of NDA, the BJP alone would have formed the government at the Centre.
Earlier, addressing the State-level convention of BJP Yuva Morch, Kishan Reddy appealed to the youth not to commit suicide for the cause of Telangana. He said the youth should stay alive and with their struggle ensure the formation of Telangana State.
State BJP Yuva Morcha president KVenkateshwara Rao also addressed the convention.
