Hyderabad, Aug 16 (INN): Telangana BJP President G Kishan Reddy on Saturday asked the Telangana Government to repeal obsolete and antiquated laws.

Speaking in a meeting organised by the Telangana Bar Association at Press Club, Basheerabagh, Kishan Reddy said there were several laws passed during the British Rule or adopted from their constitution which needs to be amended. He said those laws were not in accordance to the people of Telangana. Praising the role played by lawyers during Telangana movement, Kishan Reddy appealed to them to pressurise the State Government to repeal the laws of colonial-era.

Kishan Reddy also assured that he would represent to the Centre to establish separate High Court for Telangana at the earliest. Bar Association chairman Narasimha Reddy and others also spoke.

Hyderabad, May 18 : Led by their leader K Chandrasekhar Rao, the newly elected MLAs of Telangana Rashstra Samithi called on Governor ESL Narasimhan at Raj Bhavan here on Sunday.

Speaking ot media persons after meeting the Governor, TRS MLA Etela Rajender informed that they requested the Governor to ensure early formation of Telangana Government. They also sought his cooperation in the re-construction of Telangana State.

A letter, signed by all 63 MLAs, was also submitted to the Governor informing him that they elected K Chandrasekhar Rao as their leader in the Legislative Assembly.  INN

Hyderabad, May 17 : Congress senior leader and former minister K Jana Reddy is most likely to get the post of Leader of the Opposition in Telangana Assembly.

The Congress party is likely to convene the meeting of its legislature party next week to elect a new CLP leader. According to sources, the Congress might shortlist three candidates for the post which include Jana Reddy, former minister Dr J Geetha Reddy and former Deputy Speaker Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka. While Jana Reddy won the elections from Nagarjunasagar, Geetha Reddy won from Zaheerabad and Vikramarka got re-elected from Madhira Assembly segment. With 20 MLAs in the 119-member House, the Congress party is the second largest party after TRS which bagged 63 seats to form the government.

The TDP has 15 MLAs, MIM -7, BJP – 6, YSRCP – 3, Bahujan Samaj Party – 2 and CPI and CPI (M) have one MLA each in Telangana Assembly. One independent candidate – Donthi Madhava Reddy also got elected from Narsampet seat.  INN

Muslims need not fear Modi Govt: Dattatreyya Sat, 17 May 2014 13:10:30 +0000

Hyderabad, May 17 : BJP National Vice-President and Secunderabad MP (Elect) Bandaru Dattatreyya on Saturday thanked the Muslim voters for supporting his party and its Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi.

Speaking to INN, Dattatreyya claimed that the Muslims across the country have extended overwhelming support to the BJP in the elections. He said Muslims have rejected the Congress propaganda wherein Narendra Modi was projected as anti-Muslim. He said that the number of seats won by the BJP at the national level was a proof that the Muslim community has supported Modi’s candidature while rejecting Congress and other parties.

Dattatreyya said that the BJP was against giving reservation on the religious grounds. However, the BJP supports reservation for economically weaker sections of all communities. He assured that the BJP Government at the Centre would take all measures for the economic and social development of Muslims in the country. He said that the Muslims would get equal growth opportunities on par with other communities. He said Muslims need not fear the Modi Government.

He also thanked the voters of Secunderabad Lok Sabha constituency for electing him for the fourth term. He said he would strive hard to develop the constituency.  INN

Akbaruddin Owaisi re-elected MIM floor leader Sat, 17 May 2014 12:19:21 +0000

Hyderabad, May 17 : Chandrayangutta MLA Akbaruddin Owaisi has been re-elected as the floor leader of Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (MIM).

The re-election was done in the MIM Legislature Party’s meeting held at Darulsalaam here on Saturday. Presiding over the meeting, MIM President Asaduddin Owaisi thanked the voters for their support which ensured that MIM retain all seven Assembly and Hyderabad Lok Sabha seats. However, he said that the party would review its performance in the recent elections as it had lost in a few constituencies with small margins.

Stating that the MIM’s performance in the municipal and local bodies elections was satisfactory, Asaduddin Owaisi said that the MIM would now focus on strengthening its base in all districts of Telangana and Seemandhra.

Speaking on the occasion, Akbaruddin Owaisi thanked the party legislators for re-electing him as the floor leader. The meeting was attened by MLAs – Syed Ahmed Pasha Quadri, Mumtaz Ahmed Khan, Ahmed Balala, Maozam Khan, Jaffer Hussain and Kausar Mohiuddin and MLCs – Altaf Hyder Razvi and Syed Amin Jafferi.

Meanwhile, the MIM has decided to hold a thanksgiving public meeting at Darulsalaam on Sunday at 8 PM.  INN

Madhu Yaskhi blames Ponnala for defeat Sat, 17 May 2014 11:42:41 +0000

Hyderabad, May 17 : Less than 24 hours after the declaration of results, the Telangana Congress leaders have begun the blame game.

Speaking to media persons here, former Nizamabad MP Madhu Yaskhi Goud alleged that Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee president Ponnala Lakshmaiah was primarily responsible for the party’s debacle in the region. He said that the Congress party did not carry out organised or centralised campaign in the region. Since all the top leaders were contesting the elections, they confined themselves to their own constituencies. He alleged that there was no coordination between the top leaders with the local cadre which damaged the party’s prospects.

Madhu Yaskhi said that the Congress needs to do a serious introspection of what went wrong in the elections and take corrective steps. However, said Ponnala should own the responsibility of party’s defeat in Telangana.      INN

He said eradication of unemployment from Telangana would be given utmost priority and new jobs would be created in large numbers. He said that the TRS would ensure fulfillment of all the promises that it made in its manifesto.

When asked whether TRS Chief K Chandrasekhar Rao would be the Chief Minister, he evaded a directly reply, but said that the goal of “Swarna (Golden) Telangana” was possible only under the leadership of KCR.  INN

ACB arrests crorepati junior account officer APNPDCL Nizamabad

Nizamabad, May 16 : Simultaneous searches were conducted by the ACB Officials over the Residential house of Padala Sattaiah (56) Junior Account Officer APNPDCL, Nizamabad District on May 15, 2014 at 5.00 A.M. at Dwaraka Nagar, Nizamabad and his relative house. Searches resulted in unearthing of assets worth over Rs 1,07,00,000 (Rupees One Crore seven lakhs only).

During the searches (10) Plots in Nizamabad, Net Cash Rs. 89,000 Mutual funds of UTI Bank, LIC Policies, Gold weighing about ½ kgs, Silver1/4 kgs, One Vehicle (Swift dezire), Two Bikes ( Hero Honda Passion Pro & Pleasure) and documents were seized. Thus, total assets to a tune of Rs. 1,07,00,000 were unearthed during the searches. Case is under investigation.

Private Employee commits suicide on inebriated condition

Hyderabad, May 16 : A 22-year old Private Employee committed suicide by consuming poison at his residence on inebriated condition.

According to Shamshabad police, deceased M Pochaiah (22) an Private Employee S/o M Ramachandraiah R/o Kacharam village of Ranga Reddy district, on Thursday evening hours deceased used to visit the house in inebriated condition, later he was committed suicide by consumed unknown poison on inebriated condition. Immediately rushed to OGH for treatment where undergoing treatment he was died on night hours.

Shamshabad police registered a case and dead body shifted to Osmania Hospital Mortuary for postmortem, after autopsy deceased body handed over to his relatives.

One killed in train accident

Hyderabad, May 16 : An unidentified man of age about 58-years old died on the spot after he was hit by a train while trying to cross the railway tracks.

The accident occurred on the track between Malakpet and Dabeerpura Railway stations on Thursday evening hours while deceased trying to cross the tracks.

The Kachiguda Railway Police preserved the body at Osmania General Hospital Mortuary for autopsy and identification.

Old age woman killed in road accident

Hyderabad, May 16 : A 65-year old Woman killed in road accident after hit by Motor Cycle while trying to cross the road on Thursday evening hours.

According to Kachiguda Police, The deceased was identified as Rasool Bee (65) W/o Late Mohammed Hussain R/o Arundathinagar Gandhinagar of secunderabad the accident occurred on Thursday evening hours deceased trying to cross the road near swathi hotel suddenly one Motor Cycle came rash and negligent manner and dashed to deceased due to which deceased received multiple injuries, immediately rushed to nearest private hospital for treatment where doctors declared brought dead.

Hyderabad, May 16 : A 45-year old house wife died of burn injuries which she suffered after setting herself ablaze at her residence in Yenkapally of Moinabad on Thursday.

According to Moinabad police, deceased M Lakshmi (45) a House Wife W/o Anjaiah R/o Yenkapally of Moinabad Ranga Reddy District committed suicide by setting herself ablaze on Thursday evening hours, Immediately rushed to OGH for treatment where undergoing treatment she was died on late night hours, due to severe stomach pain.

Man allegedly strangulated his wife after sprinking chilli powder in her eyes

Hyderabad, May 16 : A man strangulated his wife after sprinking chilli powder in her eyes on Thursday night hours in L B Nagar police limits.

According to L B Nagar police, deceased P Lavanya (33) a Housewife W/o Sudhakar Reddy R/o Rock Towers of L B Nagar, on Thursday night hours Sudhakar harassed his wife due to suspected her wife fidelity and often picked up quarrel with her allegedly strangulated his wife with the help of electric wire after sprinking chilli powder in her eyes and fled away from the spot.

Lavanya married with Sudhakar in the year 2007, and they had two childrens, last before few months sudhakar harassed her for petty issues.

L B Nagar police registered a case of murder under sections 498A, 302, r/w 34 IPC and dead body shifted to Osmania Hospital Mortuary for post-mortem, after autopsy deceased body handed over to her relatives and began investigation. Inspector E Srinivas Reddy said.
