The probing agency said that in all 30 students had benefited from the question paper leak. The CID has arrested three people in connection with the EAMCET paper leak including two staff members of the JNTU that conducts the test. The CID revealed that two days prior to the exam, the question papers were leaked to the students who were taken to other states for imparting coaching for the leaked papers and were later brought back to the exam halls just in time for the test.

The 30 students and their parents would also be arrested, informed the sources. (INN)

Congress to complaint against police behaviour Wed, 27 Jul 2016 18:57:04 +0000 Hyderabad, July 27 (INN): TPCC Vice-President Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka on Wednesday informed that the Congress party would lodge a complaint against the behaviour of police against those who were protesting against lathicharge on outsees of Mallana Sagar project.

Speaking to media persons at Gandhi Bhavan here, Bhatti said that the Congress party would lodge a complaint before DGP Anurag Sharma on Thursday. He said separate complaints would also be lodged before State and National Human Rights Commissions against the arrest of elected representatives of Congress party. He accused the police of displaying “over action”. He also informed that the TPCC’s Committee on Land Acquisition would meet on Thursday to decide future strategy.

Bhatti said that the Congress leaders all districts to enlighten the farmers against the forced land acquisition by the TRS Government in the State. (INN)

Mallannasagar : Retired judge slams government Wed, 27 Jul 2016 18:56:09 +0000 Hyderabad, July 27 (INN): Retired judge Justice Chandra Kumar expressed displeasure over the way the government handled the protests against the Mallannasagar project and said that the people have every right to protest and the put their views on every issue.

Speaking to the Mallannasagar project oustees here on Wednesday, Justice Chandra Kumar said that TRS Government was making the lives of farmers miserable in the name of projects. He found fault with Irrigation Minister T. Harish Rao for terming the protests against the project as false and provoked by the opposition parties. He said, “Did you and your party not take to protest during the Telangana statehood movement. There is nothing wrong if the people protest against the government’s decision. You must listen to the woes of the protesting people.” (INN)

Anti-development forces colluded to stall projects: TRS Wed, 27 Jul 2016 18:55:16 +0000 Hyderabad, July 27 (INN): TRS leader and State Planning Commission deputy chairman Niranjan Reddy alleged that the opposition parties were indulging in anti-development politics and were going against the interests of the State.

Niranjan Reddy told the media persons that the Opposition was making a needless controversy on the Mallanna Sagar project and accused them of colluding with the anti-Telangana forces. The Opposition had no knowledge of the projects and trying to confuse the people besides provoking the farmers, he fumed.

Addressing a separate press conference, Government Whip and Alair MLA G. Sunitha said that the Mallana Sagar would benefit five districts. However, she alleged that the opposition parties wants the people of Telangana to remain deprived of their share in Godavari and Krishan rivers by stalling irrigation projects. She asked Leader of Opposition K. Jana Reddy and TPCC President N. Uttam Kumar Reddy to clarify on their role in developing irrigation facility in Nalgonda districts.

Sunitha claimed that the compensation package offered under GO 123 was better than the incentives assured under Land Acquisition Act, 2013. (INN)

Varavara Rao held while going to Mallannasagar Wed, 27 Jul 2016 18:50:43 +0000 Hyderabad, July 27 (INN): Police on Wednesday arrested Varavara Rao, revolutionary writer (Virasam leader), when he was on his way to meet the farmers and oustees of Mallannasagar at Kondapaka in Medak district.

Varavararao was prevented from proceeding to Mallannasagar villages by the police and was shifted to a police station. The police also arrested various civil liberties leaders including Dr Kasim, Ravichandra, Nalamasa Krishna and others. Speaking to media persons Varavara Rao condemned the police excess on the protesting farmers. (INN)
