Stalker drives minor girl to suicide

Hyderabad, Jan 19 (INN): A 16-year-old girl committed suicide allegedly due to harassment by a stalker.

According to Meerpet Police, the victim was staying with her relatives in Lenin Nagar and was working as a maid servant. Her neighbour Srikanth was allegedly pressuring her to accept his proposal for marriage. Despite the girl rejecting his proposal, Venkatesh was harassing her repeatedly under the guise of love. Unable to bear the harassment, the girl committed suicide by hanging to the ceiling at her aunt’s residence on Wednesday evening.

Based on a complaint from the relatives, police have registered a case against Srikanth under Sections 306 and 354-D of IPC and also section 11(iv) of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act. Further investigations are on. (INN)

Trainee SI commits suicide at NISA campus

A trainee Sub-Inspector of CISF committed suicide allegedly due to family problems.

The deceased, Sachin, 25, was a native of Harayana, and was undergoing training at NISA campus. He committed suicide by hanging to the ceiling at his room in Abhaya Hostel in the NISA campus, according to Jawahar Nagar police.

Enquiries by the police revealed that Sachin was in depression since his father Naresh Kumar’s death about four months ago. He was reportedly worried about his mother and two sisters back home. The same depression is suspected to have driven him to the extreme step. (INN)

Two killed in road accidents

A 55-year-old man was killed on the spot after he was hit and run by an unidentified vehicle near Aramgarh crossroads on Thursday morning.

The deceased was later identified as Gyaneshwar Jadhav, a labourer and resident of Babul Reddy Nagar of Mailrdevpally.

In another case, N. Kishan Rao, was killed on the spot after he was hit by a car near Pillar No. 45 of PVNR Express Way on Thursday morning. Kishan Rao was a wall-painter and resident of Dilshad Nagar in Reti Bowli. Langar Houz police have registered a case against the car driver. (INN)

Man found murdered in Malkajgiri

A 54-year-old man was found murdered in Malkajgiri police limits on Thursday morning.

The body of D. Major Kumar was found lying in a pool of blood in an open plot near his residence in Hanuman Nagar of Malkajgiri. The assailants killed him by throwing a boulder on his head.

Preliminary investigation by the police revealed that that Manoj was picked up from his residence by two persons Emanuel and Harish on Wednesday night. Emanuel’s vehicle was mortgaged with Manoj Kumar and they had come to meet to get it released. However, they went out on the same motorcycle and Manoj did not return home last night.

Malkajgiri police have registered a case of murder under Section 302 and began investigation. (INN)
