Hyderabad, Dec 13 (INN): Telangana State Planning Board vice-president Niranjan Reddy on Tuesday said that the TRS government has taken up work on various irrigation projects in the state which were neglected by previous governments.
Speaking to media here, Niranjan Reddy hit out at Congress saying that the party had completely ignored irrigation projects in Telangana during its tenure. He reminded that Congress MLA Chinna Reddy in 2007 had written an article in a newspaper demanding the government to construct Potireddypadu project. Chinna Reddy had offered to resign if the allegations that he had supported the project were proved, he reminded. He dared the Congress MLA to put in his papers and demanded that the Congress leader apologize to the people of the state.
The TRS leader said that the Congress leaders from Telangana never raised the issue of pending irrigation projects when the Congress was in power. Had Congress leaders then raised the issue of pending projects, Telangana farmers would not have to suffer for years, Niranjan Reddy said.
Niranjan Reddy alleged that China Reddy was partner of Krishnaveni Agros Farms. He said that the government had then diverted water meant for farmers to this private firm resulting in severe crisis to farmers. He said that the TRS government would complete all the projects on time and would ensure that the farmers who were deprived of water for years get their share now. He said that the government would complete Palamuru Rangareddy project in the interests of farmers come what may. (INN)
