CPI petitions Speaker against Devarkonda MLA

Hyderabad, July 20 (INN): CPI State Secretary Chada Venkat Reddy on Wednesday urged Assembly Speaker S. Madhusudan Chary to take immediate action against Devarkonda MLA R. Ravindra Kumar who defected to ruling TRS.

Speaking to media persons after submitting a petition to the Speaker, Venkat Reddy said Ravindra Kumar was elected on CPI ticket in 2014 elections. However, he defected to TRS in violation of Anti-Defection Law. He said that the Speaker should either seek Ravindra Kumar’s resignation or disqualify him from the post. He said that the Speaker has been urged to dispose of all Disqualification Petitions filed before him by all opposition parties. (INN)
