Protest for Gadwal district intensifies

Mahbubnagar, July 19 (INN): Former minister and senior Congress leader DK Aruna demanded that a separate district with Gadwal as headquarters be created as it fulfilled all the criteria for a full fledged district. On Tuesday, the former minister organized a protest to press her demand.

Speaking on the occasion, Aruna launched a scathing attack on the TRS government alleging it of pursuing political of opportunism. She wondered as to why the state government was not conceding to their demand and claimed that their demand for a new district was justified and logical. She said that if the government does not concede to her demand for creating a new district then she would commit suicide.

Party MLA A. Sampath Kumar pointed out that the Alampur people have been agitating for over a year now for a separate Gadwal district but the government is least interested to look into their demand. He warned that the party would intensify the protest and urged the people to teach a lesson to the TRS. (INN)
